Why I jump around in my study so much

I put this here to anyone struggling to start studying their Bible but not knowing where to begin or how to keep going.
What I do is I will begin a book of the Bible like John for example… and I’ll do a few chapters when suddenly the Lord begins to deal with my heart on a message that’s located somewhere else… so while that prompting from God is there, I’ll pause my study in John and go into the new study, finish that and return to John to continue on.
This is one way to dive right in to study. I remember I would sit wondering where God would have me to read. I figured out later that ANYWHERE is good because the whole Bible is valuable… so I set a plan to read a book, anyone of them… and I keep my heart open so if a topic begins to press on my heart, I can go into it… then return to my other set schedule of reading when I’m done.
This gives me a freedom kind of… because I know without struggling to decide I have a reading plan that I’m learning and growing from.
