Romans 11

These are my notes and thoughts, which means, I am waiting on the Lord for confirmation and could be wrong entirely… or even in part. Like I said, these are my pondering. The Lord Jesus was rejected and then crucified by his own people, Israel… the Jews. A kind of blindness came over them that they could not see the truth about Jesus. God was not done with Israel, and God will fulfill every promise he has made to Israel. After the rejection of Jesus by Israel, salvation came to the Gentiles. Where the Jews had to follow the law, Jesus came to fulfill the Law and to bring salvation by grace and faith in the blood of Jesus. Because the Jews didn’t believe in Jesus, they could not receive grace, they had to keep the entire Law…. and still, this did not give them salvation. God blinded them temporary, and now will provoke them to jealousy by saving the Gentiles through faith in Jesus. MY THOUGHTS: The Jews have known they are God’s chosen people and have enjoyed this status. They rejected Jesus and a blinder was placed over their hearts, so they could not see the truth….meanwhile the Gentiles are getting saved by grace all over the place and there is coming a time when the fullness of the Gentiles will be met and the veil that blinded the minds of Israel will be lifted, and they will find Jesus. They will find Jesus through the preaching of the word by the Gentiles, Jesus will reveal himself to the Jews… and the Jews will humble themselves before the Lord. This is why we need to foster a loving relationship between the Christians and the Jews, and why replacement theology is so ungodly. The dealings with Israel and the dealings with the Christians Church are God’s divine plan…. the Jewish people have their part and the Christians have their part and GOD will bring it all together in Jesus. Today I was praying and asking God to show me the truth about everything dealing with the relationship between the Church and the Jews. Mike Bickle put out a video (link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4mvL_Npw9M ) that I watched yesterday… and to me, it seemed he had something in his spirit that was pressing with this, but was at loss for how to articulate it in a simple manner and maybe, he was only just getting the revelation and wanted to wait on the Lord. Part of his message was similar to a post I made about the Isaiah 62 fast being an event that would remember in the eternal history of mankind and God. I think MANY of us who were praying and fasting felt this in our spirits.

In prayer for understanding of the relationship between Israel and the Church, the Lord showed me a simple fact. In order to really be hearing from God on the end time events that are unfolding, Israel will have to be the center. The reason is, because the events that are documented by John on Patmos in the book of Revelation, while they effected the entire earth, are centralized in Israel. In order to understand what is happening and the significance, we need to understand the covenant that God has with Israel. The two flocks, the Church and Israel, are fitly joined together…..like a lock and a key.

Romans Chapter 11

1 I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

This verse right here proves that God is not done with Israel.

God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew. Wot ye not what the scripture saith of Elias? how he maketh intercession to God against Israel saying,

God is not man… God knows what the future holds, he knew everything that was going to happen even before he chose Israel, and still God entered into a covenant with them. This means that he plans to fulfill every promise because he knew before he made the covenants with them and made the covenant anyway. Philippians 1:6 tells us that God will complete the works he has begun in us.

Lord, they have killed thy prophets, and digged down thine altars; and I am left alone, and they seek my life.

But what saith the answer of God unto him? I have reserved to myself seven thousand men, who have not bowed the knee to the image of Baal.

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

Some of the Jews became Christians and stopped walking after the Law and began following Jesus and walking after grace. When you follow the Law, you are following works. Following Jesus and trusting in him for salvation without works means that you know how helpless you are to keep the Law and stop sinning, and are trusting in the blood of Jesus to pay the price for our sins. We come to terms with the sinful nature of the flesh and our need for Jesus to be saved…. all of us have sinned, and a single sin is all that is needed to keep you out of heaven. God can’t be around sin, so we have to be washed from our sins in order to be around God. People have a disconnect, I certainly did, when it comes to God sending people to hell… God doesn’t choose that, he provided a way out, and we chose what we want to do, to have ourselves cleansed of sin or to forever be separated from God. The reason works can never work to reconcile us to God is because we have all sinned already , just that one sin disqualifies us from entering into the presence of God… and the only way after that to enter is to believe in the Lord Jesus, the Son of God….. we trust in the blood of Jesus to take away our sin and restore us to God. This is why works of the Law could never completely reconcile us…. it was a “looking forward” to the time when Jesus would pay for our sins once and for all. I think part of the blindness that the Jews have until the time of the fullness of the Gentiles is that the Law was a “faith” investment that they committed to by keeping the Law until Jesus came and fulfilled the law for all mankind. Like, Jesus was promised even if they couldn’t see it and the way they honored that promise was to keep the Law until the fulfillment freed them from it…… but keeping the law was never going to save them… Jesus is….but they didn’t know that the Law was a temporary thing until Jesus came. These are, of course, my notes, and I am waiting on God for confirmation.

What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

(According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.

And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:

10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

11 I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.

So, it was always Gods plan to bring salvation to the Gentiles. God knew what would happen. He is far from done with Israel… their rejection of Jesus was met with blindness for a season… while salvation came to the Gentiles. Once the gentiles are saved… the fullness of the gentiles…. then the blinders are coming off of the eyes of Israel and revival is going to break out as they too receive Jesus as their savior. They have always been God’s chosen people…no matter what.

12 Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fulness?

God can always take a situation that wasn’t good and make it into a glorious moment… like this, when the rejection of Jesus opened salvation up to the Gentiles….. HOW GLORIOUS that is…. and as glorious as that is…. imagine what will happen when the chosen of God, Israel repents and receives Jesus!

13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:

14 If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

15 For if the casting away of them be the reconciling of the world, what shall the receiving of them be, but life from the dead?

16 For if the firstfruit be holy, the lump is also holy: and if the root be holy, so are the branches.

17 And if some of the branches be broken off, and thou, being a wild olive tree, wert grafted in among them, and with them partakest of the root and fatness of the olive tree;

18 Boast not against the branches. But if thou boast, thou bearest not the root, but the root thee.

REMEMBER THIS…. The Jews were offered Salvation first and through their rejection salvation came to us…. but salvation was and is still first to the Jews….because they are the root… Jesus came from the Jews. So, before anyone gets the idea that they can look at the Jews as being inferrior to them, think again. You are grafted into that tree… you are become part of them, not the other way around. When the blinders come off then they all become saved, but that was always the plan of God. These scriptures dispel replacement theology and supersessionism in full. This also proves that the Hebrew Roots movement is in error. When Jesus came to fulfill the law, he replaced the Law with grace through faith in the blood of Jesus. The error of the Hebrew roots movement is very involved and I don’t want to digress into that at this time.

19 Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.

20 Well; because of unbelief they were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear:

This looks like Paul is warning people not to be all smug and look down of the Jews for their sins while taking advange of the blessings that comes to the gentile as a result of it. Stay humble and guard your heart against developing or embracing ungodly feelings of superiority. That is NEVER good… in any setting or situation and especially in this one. We are grafted into THEIR ROOT…. not the other way around.

21 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.

22 Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.

God is a righteous judge ALWAYS. If you think that being grafted in because you saw who Jesus is and received him as your savior makes you superior to the Jews, you are in danger of being cut off. STAY HUMBLE

23 And they also, if they abide not still in unbelief, shall be grafted in: for God is able to graft them in again.

All it takes is repentence. If the Jews repent, they are grafted back into the root.

24 For if thou wert cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and wert grafted contrary to nature into a good olive tree: how much more shall these, which be the natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

The Jews are still God’s chosen people. When I say Jew’s I mean those that are of the blood line of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We are blessed because of their error, but God ALWAYS intends for them to also come to repentance and for all of us to be grafted into the root which would then form one planting of the Lord. Stay humble and stay loving… praying for the salvation of the Jews.

25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.

26 And so all Israel shall be saved: as it is written, There shall come out of Sion the Deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob:

27 For this is my covenant unto them, when I shall take away their sins.

28 As concerning the gospel, they are enemies for your sakes: but as touching the election, they are beloved for the father’s sakes.

29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.

God NEVER changed his mind about Israel.

30 For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:

31 Even so have these also now not believed, that through your mercy they also may obtain mercy.

32 For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.

33 O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!

The Gentiles became Christians and for years, since the death burial and resurrection of Jesus, have been growing and learning all about Jesus… building the church and going into all of the world with the gospel. Now, Christians are going into Israel and bringing the gospel message to them to lead them to Jesus. After the Isaiah62 fast their was the celebration and there was some push back against the evangelical Christians who were there spreading the Gospel and celebrating the feast of Pentecost. I actually feel this conflict was a move toward healing the wounds in the Jewish people causes by the Christians who stood by while they were marched off to prison camps and murdered. I kind of look at it like when you and your love get into an argument, air all your grieviances, repent and then make up and start having a better relationship because you are no longer harboring bad feelings.

34 For who hath known the mind of the Lord? or who hath been his counsellor?

35 Or who hath first given to him, and it shall be recompensed unto him again?

36 For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen.

As Christians we need to challenge anyone who promotes replacement theology/supersessionism and shine the light on the truth. Ive known people who are invested in this errant belief also harbor antisemitic beliefs. I knew a man who I know loved Jesus, he was a preacher of the Gospel and enjoyed seeing people get saved. He also had one very serious flaw that was hard to miss when you met him. He was antisemitic and while he would claim he was not, he would make little comments that outed his actual belief. He also supported David Duke. He claimed that David Duke had renouced his dealing with certain hate groups and was no longer a white supremacist. As it turned out someone gave me a huge stack of back issues of National Geographics and one of the issues featured a story on David Duke…. that was to have taken place AFTER he renouced being a white supremacist. The photographer wrote a small piece that was included in the article about a conversation that Duke had with him. The Photographer had his daughter with him, a blond with blue eyes and Duke, being what he is, told the man that he should have more aryan children. I was sickened by this and even more so to see this man professing his love for Jesus also embracing a hateful person like Duke as a candidate for governer. These two things do not go hand in hand… if a person claims to love Jesus but hates others, they are deceived 1 John 4:20. I confronted this man one day over a large sign he had in his yard promoting Duke for governer and I shared with him the article I found that exposed the truth about Dukes real beliefs. He really didn’t know what to say and excused himself quickly. As Christians we need to confront this kind of hatred. We need to vote in people who have a heart for the Jewish people, who will advocate for them and protect their sovereignty as a nation. Lastly, there will be a test…and your very soul will hang in the balance.
