He that shall endure unto the end…

Matthew 24:13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

The word “ENDURE” is interesting. In this day it means to suffer through something …but in the Vine’s Bible Dictionary is says.. Abide, Abode: lit., “to abide under” (hupo, “under”), signifies “to remain in a place instead of leaving it, to stay behind,” e.g., Luk 2:43; Act 17:14; or “to persevere,” Mat 10:22; 24:13; Mar 13:13; in each of which latter it is used with the phrase “unto the end;” or “to endure bravely and trustfully,” e.g., Hbr 12:2, 3, 7, suggesting endurance under what would be burdensome. See also Jam 1:12; 5:11; 1Pe 2:20. Cp. makrothumeo, “to be longsuffering.”
See ENDURE, SUFFER, TAKE, Notes (12), TARRY.

I don’t think any of us have a good handle on what it is that we will be enduring. Verse 7 talks about the coming World War. This war will be more intense than any other war has been…we have greater capabilities now to do massive damages to everyone and everything…. from nukes to bio weapons…. like viruses and mustard gas that can be deployed with drones. Droughts that cause water shortages and famines will also cause horrific problems. People today will stomp one another to death on a Black Friday sale… imagine how they’ll behave when their life depends on being the first shopper to get food for your starving family. Then there are the viruses that are breaking out….. where even going to buy food puts you at risk… and infections start to spread like wildfire. And there is the weather becoming more and more unpredictable… and just when everyone is struggling with war, famine and illness… an earthquake hits or tsunami or hurricane or solar flare. AND the whole time this is going on… families are turning on one another… people will become hyper paranoid so that they will be set one against another……people who once loved each other will hate and betray one another. Confusion will be everywhere. This situation that we are called to endure is not a situation we can “will” ourselves through. No matter how well-intentioned we are… the situation is going to call for dedication to know God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit… and now is the time to set about to do that.

You will not know a lie from the truth if you have not been a diligent student of the truth. You will not know the fraudulent actions of a false prophets if you haven’t studied the nature of God and how the Holy Spirit moves. God’s Word is the light that will expose the lies of the false prophet. Jesus is called the Word… so when we invest ourselves into learning the word…. REALLY LEARNING the word, not just reading a verse or two….but deep study…. we’re filling our hearts and minds with Jesus’s way of thinking… and when we align our actions with the word of God… we’re taking up our Cross and following Jesus. Doing these things… studying the word and walking in the word are how we will expose the lies and how we will endure in our love for Jesus and others.

14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

This will be complete during the time of the great tribulation.

15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

This is so important that all people read about this and read about the end times, a prayer was prayed that we would understand.

16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

When the Antichrist stands in the Holy Place of the temple an escalation in events is happening. Instructions for the Israelite’s living in Judaea to flee to the mountains. Basically, run for cover because things are about to get really bad.

17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:

JUST GO… don’t pack up anything… don’t gather up a single thing… just run for the mountains. I imagine Jesus saying this… he knows what is about to happen and he’s urgently instructing the people of Israel to leave without wasting time on anything when this event occurs.

18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.

1And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!

It’ll be harder to run to the mountains when you’re pregnant or have a baby to look after.

20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:

It’s harder to move out in the winter and if this happens on a Sabbath day there are travel restrictions. A Jew is not allowed to leave town on the Sabbath day.

21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
