Matthew 5:5 Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

• 1 Peter 5:6  Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
• James 4:6⁶ But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
• Matthew 11:29 ^{(Jesus said)} Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.

Jesus gave us many examples of true meekness. I think of when he washed the feet of the disciples…. and when he laid down his life for all of us to save us from the penalty of sin….and to reconcile us to God. Meekness is not a sign of weakness, it’s a sign of wisdom and love.

• Matthew 26:53 ⁵³ Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Meekness is having the power plus the wisdom of how and when to use it, plus the self-control to walk in the purpose of God and not the flesh.

• Matthew 23:11-12 ¹¹ But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.¹² And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
