Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Matthew 5:9 Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

A peacemaker is someone who seeks to reconcile one person with another after the two have had a disagreement…. and a peacemaker also reconciles others with God. They do this by being aware of the struggles of others, not so they can gossip, but so they can pray and help the person through the situation.

This person knows that true peace is found in following God, so they’re a soul winner, leading people to accepting Jesus as their Lord and Savior. They understand that people struggle and so when they see someone struggling, they help them. They know misunderstandings happen, so when they see two people in conflict, they seek a resolution that restores peace to each person.

The heart of the peacemaker is one of loving service to God and others. In the world we see people who thrive on conflict and drama…. in contrast, the children of God thrive on living a life in the peace of God.

Paul is an example of being a peacemaker in Philippians 4-1-3
1Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.
I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

These women were in a conflict with each other. Paul encouraged them to come together and settle their issues, as well as encouraging others to assist them in coming back to peace with each other.
